FSA imposes £2.17 million fine for failure by Direct Line and Churchill to conduct their businesses with due skill, care and diligence

The companies in question, Direct Line and Churchill were fined by the FSA for failing to prevent files requested by the FSA being improperly altered. Of the 50 requested files, 27 were found to be altered improperly before the they were submitted because the firms failed to act with due skill, care and diligence
This heightens the importance of storing records and documents in a none editable document management system so customers and clients can be reassured that no mal practice is possible. Management can also be confident that all documents will be handled in the proper manner in accordance with the FSA.
