MDI Cloud Release Notes

Introduction

We’re thrilled to share the latest enhancements and fixes that have been introduced this December. These updates are designed to improve your overall experience with MDI Cloud, streamline workflows, and enhance productivity.

New Viewer & Document Handling

• New viewer for additional file types: You can now view CSV, TXT, and other file formats directly within the platform. 

• Updated OnlyOffice Integration: Improved document editing experience, including the ability to copy documents directly to your workspace and easily rename files. 

• Update to user interface to include a new drop-down menu on the document viewing page. Removing the need to return to the dashboard for certain functionality. 
  • Launch workflow on selected documents.
  • Add or remove buckets as needed. 

Workbench & Buckets

• Enhanced Bucket Functionality: Now you can manage buckets more effectively to keep documents organised. 

• Events – New Workflow Type with User Input: A new event type now supports user input to customise workflows. 

• Events – Add to Bucket: Effortlessly add documents to designated buckets. 

• Events – Add Tags: Tag documents within workflows for easier categorisation. 

• Events – Math Function Blocks: Perform basic calculations directly within workflows. 

• Events – Add to Data Table Without Document: Insert records into data tables independently of document uploads. 

• Events – Initiate Signing Request: Kickstart the document signing process within a workflow. 

Performance & Search 

• Search Folders – Speed Improvements: Search operations now run up to 95% faster, making content retrieval significantly quicker. 

• Automatically Merging Folders on Move: When moving folders, the system now merges them intelligently for smoother organisation. 

Workflow Improvements

• Events – Workflow – Cross Runtime Data Stores: Seamlessly utilise data across multiple runtime environments within a single workflow. 

• Events – Bug Fix: Messaging and Debug Blocks: More accurate and stable messaging within workflows. 

Workspace Enhancements

• Workspace – Moving Docs from Workspace: Choose a destination folder upon moving documents. 

• Workspace – Drag and Drop Upload: Upload documents directly to the workspace by dragging and dropping. 

Data Tables

• Set Access to Users or Groups: Control who can view and edit data tables. 

• New Field Types (Including Images): Enrich your data records with additional field formats. 

• Events – Rename Document: Rename documents via workflow-driven events. 

• Events – Standalone AI Request (Allows Variable Usage): Integrate AI-driven requests that can adapt to variable inputs. 

• Events – Create Empty Folder: Generate empty folders via events for better organisation. 

• Events – Get Auto Structure Name: Automatically assign structured names to items. 

• Create External Links with Tokens: Generate secure, tokenised external links to data tables. 

• Data Tables – Direct Links to Records: Access records directly via dedicated links, aiding integrations with your other business systems. 

• Events – Copy Workspace Templates: Streamline workspace creation by copying existing templates. 

Email Improvements & Bug Fixes

• Email – Identify the Sender: Outgoing emails now clearly state who sent the email. 

• Email Integration – Bug Fix: Only display emails relevant to the current database. 

• Emails – Change Sender Email to @mdicloud.io: All outgoing messages now originate from a consistent domain. 

• Sending Emails – Multiple Recipients: Send messages to multiple recipients at once. 

Forms & Redaction

• Forms – QR Codes for Re-Use: Reuse form data easily with QR codes. 

• Forms – Bug Fix: Prompting to Save Changes Unnecessarily: No more prompts to save when no modifications were made. 

• Forms – Button to Next Required Field: Quickly navigate to the next field that needs input, simplifying completion of long forms. 

• Forms – Bug Fix: All Fields Mandatory: Enhanced enforcement of mandatory fields. 

• Redaction – Bug Fix: Overlays When Selecting Documents: Improved redaction experience, ensuring overlays display as expected by the user. 

• Redaction – Bug Fix: No Need to Select Folder for New Version: Save time and effort when creating new redacted versions. 

User Suggestions & Miscellaneous

• Suggestion – Move Metadata on Signing: Metadata travels with the document throughout the signing process. 

• Suggestion – Redact from Viewing Pane: Redact documents directly from the viewing interface. 

• Suggestion – Signing – Email Links to Documents: After signing, automatically send email links to the finalised documents. 

• Viewing “Bug” Fix – Download Currently Viewed Version: Download the exact version you’re viewing without extra steps. 

• Uploads – Bug Fix: Uploading Giant Files: Improved stability and success rates for large file uploads. 

Next Steps

Depending on which package you are on you will see some, or all of the new functionality and changes when logging in to MDI Cloud following the release over the Christmas 2024 period.
